Why am I writing This.

I was asked recently by one of my mentors to write - if it speaks to me. Having not picked up the digital pen in many years it surprised me that I did not deter from his request but instead decided to try. So here is me trying, I will attempt to keep this blog going for the rest of the year. I will post once a month. The subject will be my spiritual journey and I will call this blog and the next 12 blogs in this series, "Thoughts from the Path".

I am writing Thoughts from the Path as a way of documenting, reflecting and perhaps explaining how I got here in my journey. I will talk about my experience in Krishna Consciousness, not as a teacher, but as a sincere seeker, trying to understand life, devotion and heart a little more honestly. I am still very much learning. I am still very much growing.

My aim for this space is for it to be an open diary, mine to write and yours to read. Some entries may feel complete, some might be confusing, some may sound inexperienced and some might be plain wrong. That is important to say. I hope this will be okay.

Why Krishna Consciousness?

Krishna Consciousness came into my life and stayed much longer than I thought it would. It came offering me everything, asking for nothing. What drew me in wasn't perfection or certainty, it was a poem and a bottomless lunch. What kept me interested wasn't sanctuary or a haven, but wisdom and kindness.

Krishna Consciousness, as I understand it, doesn't require us to escape life. It invites us to get to know about life, with a softer heart, with more humility and more gratitude for being able to live.

Making Wisdom Accessible

One of my hopes for this blog to make wisdom feel distant and more accessible. I hope to open up a conversation between me the writer and you the reader. If you are an old friend who wondered how Tim went from Comms Studying, Breakdancing, T-Shirt Making, World Traveling, Beer Making, Craft Drinking to Krishna Chanting or a new friend who would like to get to know the Timothy a little better, welcome.

This blog should not be considered a legitimate or authoritative source of spiritual education. No. It is simply one person’s reflections along the path — offered with respect, gratitude, and humility.

Thoughts from the Path,

Timothy
